Number Our Days

Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty,
if our strength endures; yet the best of them are
but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly
pass, and we fly away.

Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of
trouble.  They spring up like flowers and wither away;
like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.
